Glenn Childs was Peter Florrick's main competition for the position of Cook County State Attorney.
He released a sex tape of Florrick and prostitute Amber Madison, which forced Florrick to resign. Childs then became the new State Attorney, and Peter was put in jail for ten months. Alicia Florrick, Peter's wife, then had to take up her old job to help support her children, and clashed with Childs and his office on more than one occasion.
In Season 3, Childs appears as an Assistant United States Attorney.
